Public consultation on the provision of EU-wide real time traffic information services – have your say

The European Commission is seeking views from individuals and organisations that have an interest in the provision and usage of real-time traffic information services.

This is a great opportunity for those in the transport industry, including commercial road transport operators, to have their say on an issue which affects their business activities. You might consider that your business needs more real-time information on traffic congestion, road closures or weather conditions, or you may even have an idea which could improve the availability of real time traffic data to users. By contributing your thoughts to this consultation, you could help optimise the provision of transport related information services throughout the EU.

CMR claims against successive carriers – clarification on jurisdiction

This recent case has clarified an important issue as to jurisdiction under the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (the “CMR”), making it easier to establish jurisdiction in England over successive carriers.
